Friday Fantasy 10-3-25

Top o’ the morning all!

As always, I hope this finds you doing well. Here in Minnesota, we’re enjoying what appears to be a nearly endless summer, with high temperatures that are frankly absurd. It has allowed plenty of family fun, though, which I appreciate. Still, I’m looking forward to autumn whenever it decides to arrive.

Writing Update!

September was a busy month. With everyone back in school and hard at work, it was time to buckle down and get all the words written. My first and most major task was to get Song of the Fallen Swords 5 off to the editor, and I’m proud to report that I’ve done so. The book grew more than I was expecting, but I’m happy with how it turned out. Once it finishes its editing passes I’ll be sending it off to my ARC team, and Song of the Fallen Swords will be (almost) officially complete. I’m still working on a novella that will finish expanding the world, which I’m hoping to have ready as part of the sale of the final book.

Now I’m onto a new series for OHB set outside the Nexus universe. I’m particularly happy about this one. I’m maybe a fifth of the way through the first draft, and it’s simply been a joy to write. I can’t wait to share more about it.

A Short Story Gift:

The free short story for this newsletter comes from the world of Saga of the Broken Gods. It’s called “The Stories We Tell,” and is available free for a couple of weeks over on the blog. If you’d like to check it out, you can find it here:

The Stories We Tell

And that’s it for this week! I will be out of the office next week, but will make sure to get all physical book orders from the shop packed up as soon as I return, which will be on Tuesday, Oct. 14.

Until then, I wish you all the best, and thanks for being here.
