Friday Fantasy 10-24-25
Well, a huge top o’ the morning to you all. As always, I really do hope this finds you doing well. Life lately has been full and busy and wonderful, filled with good work, good friends, and good family. My name is Ryan Kirk, and when I’m not writing fantasy stories, I’m dreaming of taking long walks across the hills and through the woods.
There’s a fair amount going on, and a lot of cool things happening, so I’m excited to share it all with you!
Quick Writing Update
As I write this, Song of the Fallen Swords 5 is at the editor, and I expect I’ll be receiving my copy pretty much any day now. After that, it will take a few days to incorporate all the edits and make one final pass through the manuscript, and then it will be off to my ARC readers. I hesitate to make a promise about something that isn’t fully in my control, but I do expect to have it to ARC readers within the next week or two at the most, so keep an eye on that inbox!
While I’ve been waiting for that I’ve been hard at work on yet another new story/new universe, which has been a real treat so far. I’ll share more on that soon, but it’s been going well.
The Book of Spores
As some of you may know, I joined the review site FanFiAddict a year or two ago. It’s a cool place with cool people, and I’ve been happy to be posting my reviews there. Even more exciting, though, is that the authors who are a part of the site have come together to write a themed anthology. It’s based around a magical book of spores and features fantasy, sci-fi, and horror stories from a pretty awesome collection of talented authors.
The Kickstarter for the anthology hasn’t started yet, but there is an interest page that will remind you when it goes live next month. You can find that here:

And if you’d like to learn a bit more and watch an incredible cover reveal trailer, you can watch it here:
Audio Code Giveaway!
This is another fun piece of news that I’m pretty excited by. Andrew Tell, the fantastic narrator of quite a few of my books, recently worked with me to make a complete audio collection of the original Nightblade trilogy. It’s finally made its way through the maze of production and is now available on Audible. If you’d like to feast your ears on over 38 HOURS of fantasy, you can check it out here:
But as a fun little part of the release, I do have a few free promo codes, good for both the US and UK markets. This will be a pretty informal giveaway, and a thank you to people for already being here and supporting my work. I have 10 each of US and UK codes, and if you’re interested, all you have to do is reply to this email/post with the name of your favorite sci-fi or fantasy movie or TV/streaming show. I’ll wait until Monday or Tuesday next week, then draw the names out of a hat.
And I think that’s all for now! Once again, I really do hope you’re doing well.
Thanks for being here,
Ryan
